Trick-or-treating with children, Halloween costume precautions
Halloween is a big deal and one the most exciting day of the year for kids. Everyone is outfitted to the nines with their Star Wars light saber or their glittery magic wand. No longer just your children, Halloween costume time transforms them into pirates and princesses. Amidst all the make-believe and revelry, here are some trick-or-treating tips to keep everyone safe and happy-- both you and your children. Halloween costume and trick-or-treating tips:
- Always have a chaperone for young children and trick-or-treating.
- Always walk on a sidewalk, but if there is none, walk facing traffic on the farthest edge of the road.
- Only go trick-or-treating to homes with porch lights on.
- If you are wearing a mask, remove it before crossing the street, as it can reduce eyesight capability.
- Never go into somebody's house for a treat.
- Don't cut across alleys or yards-- remain on well-lit streets.
- Only cross the street at crosswalks in big groups.
